1 HOUR BLOCKS OF WORSHIP MUSIC (even-numbered hours 8am, 10am, 12pm, etc)
1 HOUR BLOCKS OF BIBLE TEACHING (odd-numbered hours 7am, 9am, 11am, etc)
The Bible teachers and programs on KLHT-FM are prayerfully and carefully considered in order to bring relative, dynamic instruction and healthy doctrine to you, our listeners. Our mix of praise and worship music is intentionally “vertical” in direction, meaning the lyrics and composition of the songs are directed upward to the Lord God. We are constantly listening to what’s out there and replenishing the playlists with what we hope will lead listeners into the presence of God, no matter where they are and no matter what their circumstances may be. To Jesus Christ alone be the glory!
With an FCC classification of a “noncommercial educational” radio frequency, KLHT-FM radio is free of commercial advertising. This is a two-edged sword…it’s excellent for the listening experience…but it’s tricky for the station to generate revenue to sustain itself! Thankfully, the Lord is our Provider and we continue to trust Him for sponsors, underwriters and donors to support our broadcasting.
Station History
KLHT-FM Honolulu, 91.5kHz is a licensed noncommercial educational radio station located on the island of Oahu. After applying for the frequency in 1996, Worship and the Word radio finally went on the air 20 years later, on February 13, 2016. The station mission is to minister to the communities of the Hawaiian islands and beyond with biblical teaching and Spirit-led worship music. The station format is an alternating mix of one-hour music blocks and one-hour teaching blocks. KLHT-FM is an affiliate station to
KLHT-AM 1040kHz, “Hawaii’s Pure Light”, broadcasting Teaching and Talk since 1984. Both stations can be heard on all mobile devices with KLHT’s cross-platform mobile APP available in the app stores. Search words: “klht honolululu”
Station Operations
KLHT-FM Honolulu, 91.5kHz broadcast studio is located in Aiea on the Calvary Chapel Honolulu campus on the island of Oahu. Being owned and operated by a longstanding ministry in the community of Hawaii, KLHT-FM maintains high accountability to and integrity within the body of Christ (the church). KLHT-FM’s broadcast tower and antenna are located on top of the Waianae mountain range’s “Palehua Ridge”, providing one of the best coverage signals available to Oahu and some of the outer Hawaiian islands.
